Staying at our Riccall caravan site puts you in the perfect spot for exploring the area on two wheels. A safe, easy-to-ride cycle path leads you straight into the heart of historic York. Nature lovers will also enjoy nearby Skipwith Common nature reserve (just over a mile away) and Hagge Woods, both within easy reach.

The village of Riccall, just a mile away, offers two welcoming pubs with restaurants, a small park with a children’s play area, and a couple of handy shops for any essentials you may have forgotten. The 415 bus runs regularly from Riccall, providing convenient access to both York and Selby. Alternatively, you can drive to the village, park for free near the green, and catch a bus from one of several stops.

EXCELLENT Based on 62 reviews Posted on Maria YoungTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a fantastic Easter weekend at Pound cottage. Was so comfortable and spacious. Fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Rod and Peggy were there on hand should they be needed for anything. The welcome cake and jug of fresh milk was a lovely surprise and the cake was soooo tasty. Beds were really comfy, we slept like a log!! Everything was just perfect and made our family weekend all the more enjoyable. We will definitely be returning for another staycationPosted on Magdalene YoungTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My husband is wheelchair bounds with the added complication of having to have extended leg rests as he cannot bend his knees. Copper cottage is absolutely perfect for us to have a holiday. With a ceiling hoist and profile bed it was so easy for me to manage getting him up and helping into bed. With a large hall disabled bathroom large kitchen and very comfortable lounge our stay was perfect. So far we have booked two more stays but expect to go many more times too just love the countryside location and yet not far from Selby or York plenty to see and do. The owners are such lovely people so friendly and helpful after checking with you that everything is ok for you they make sure you know exactly how to contact them if you need anything and even though they are not far away they seem to melt into the background and leave you to enjoy the cottage and surrounding special grounds and gardens so wonderful and the icing on the cake we were aloud to take Rusty out Cock a poo who absolutely loved the outdoor space. Thank you so much for everything see you again soon.Posted on Jonathan BennettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Spacious, private accommodation in an excellent position to get into York being just down the road from the Designer Outlet Village and Park & Ride. The accommodation was spacious and clean with a lovely welcome surprise of fresh, homemade lemon drizzle cake. Our hosts were really friendly and gave us a really warm welcome. We would happily come back here to explore more of this lovely park of the UK.Posted on Rod GilesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great place, Rod and Peggy very accommodatingPosted on Morag GeddesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We stayed at Copper Cottage with my elderly father so that he could attend a family wedding in York and thanks to Peggy and Rod we were able to meet all dad’s care needs and enable him to fully enjoy this special occasion. Communication was excellent and our hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we required to ensure the stay went well. We were welcomed on arrival and enjoyed a delicious cake with a cup of tea after a very long 6 hour drive. Gills travel local taxi was able to provide transport to and from the wedding venue. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped to meet dad’s care needs, in a beautiful, quiet location with easy access to York and the delightful village of Riccall. I would have no reservations about booking another visit and highly recommend it.Posted on Tracey GinnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing cottage with everything someone with a disability would need. Lovely hosts, Peggy and Rod who were on hand to deal with any issues or just to have a chat and advise on places to visit. The cottage was very clean, spacious and had all the equipment we needed.Posted on Robert CairnsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great instructions so arrived easily. Spotless and well equipt with all disabilities catered for. We arranged for a hospital bed and commode, which were perfect, and nothing was too much trouble. Peggy baked us a beautiful drizzle cake which was a surprise and went down well on arrival. Peggy checked everything was as it should be and we had a welcome folder with things to do, visit and contact details, but as they lived on site it was a short walk across if we needed anything. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and with a dishwasher installed, it made life easier for our stay. The cottage, Pound, was so disabled friendly and had things built in for all levels of disability and not just for minor types. Large rooms and bathrooms were designed so that even my wife, who was in a larger wheelchair, had plenty of room to move around and we had probably the most comfortable beds we had ever slept in. It’s quiet, considering the closeness to the A19, with well maintained outside areas, and plenty of parking room for larger vehicles. All in all a definite 5***** property and I would have no hesitation in staying here again, and I have already recommended it to friends who have family members with a disability, and plan on staying here again.Posted on Denis BerridgeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
